Sara Asher has been at Bishop Seabury Academy since 2002. She has experienced many changes at Seabury and in her personal life, but she has been in the same classroom all that time except for 2 years. Often known as Lady Asher because of her land holdings in Scotland, Asher completed her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership degree from Baker University in 2023. Dr. Asher has a BS from South Dakota State University and a MSE in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas. Dr. Asher loves to share tales of the amazing world we share with so many other cultures in her middle school “Histography” classes and to weave through the stories of humanity’s history in high school classes. Teaching has been Dr. Asher’s jam for nearly 25 years, and she can see sharing her love of social studies with students for decades to come. She also loves spending time with her husband, Jaron, her twins, Jace and Gillian (Vee) who also attend Seabury, and the dogs and cats at home. In the spare time she has, Dr. Asher loves to read, knit, cross-stitch, and watch movies.
