Kara Schrader has been with Seabury since 2013 and holds a BA in Biological Sciences from Dartmouth College and an MS in Natural Sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She says
I love teaching at Seabury because it allows me to share the things I am passionate about with others and make a difference in my community. I feel lucky that I am able to spend my days with teenagers (believe it or not!)-- they are learning so much about themselves and the world but they also challenge me to continue to learn and grow. I especially love Seabury because I am able to interact with each individual student much more than I would elsewhere, sometimes even over many years." Kara enjoys cycling (especially gravel biking in Kansas!), running, yoga, and being outdoors whether in the water, on a trail, or in the snow. Her husband Ian is a professor of Philosophy at Washburn University (they met while on a group bike ride while living in Denver) and their son Gavin was born when the class of 2022 was in 6th grade! The newest addition to their family is their black and white Corgi, Carson.
