Amanda Lovett thrives on the positive, insatiable energy of the Seabury community. She loves being able to teach with rigor, but most of all, her bucket is filled by experiencing meaningful relationships with students and watching them learn, change, and succeed.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in 2005 from Washburn University, and her Master’s in Education from Baker University in 2019. She has been teaching for 18 years, and has earned multiple teaching awards including the Kansas State Elementary Teacher of the Year Award for Lawrence Public School in 2020. She has had the opportunity to clinically supervise many student teachers and interns from several area universities, and loves sharing pedagogy and her knowledge of literacy instruction, classroom management, and differentiated instruction with other educators.

Mrs. Lovett is married to Jay Lovett, who works for the City of Lawrence. They have a son and a daughter who are six and two, and four pets: a dog, a hamster, and two kittens. Mrs. Lovett enjoys reading, listening to music, playing with her children, camping, yoga, and listening to true crime podcasts.
