Melody Barclay

Melody Barclay brings to Seabury over twenty-seven years in education and working with youth, including curriculum development. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Masters of Theological Studies at Northwestern University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She has been active in ministerial functions in church life and youth ministry. 

Melody has served as a para-educator at Free State High School and South Middle School in Math and Science. She is passionate about providing one-on-one, uniquely-tailored instruction to help students reach their full potential, as a private educational consultant. She received Teacher of the Year in 2023, Your Impact Award in 2024, and the J.E. Porter Prize for Creative Field Education.

In her free time, Melody enjoys yoga, working out, time in nature, and spending time with her husband, her step-son, her four daughters, and seven grandchildren.
