Science / Engineering

Holding degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas, Katherin Steinbacher is a registered Professional Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the engineering industry, managing and mentoring students and young professionals. She has also served as an elementary and middle-school science and engineering classroom teacher.

Katy is passionate about the absolute necessity of a strong foundation in S.T.E.M. disciplines and she is committed to ensuring that all young people, especially those historically underserved and underrepresented in S.T.E.M., have access to high quality S.T.E.M. experiences.

She shares, “Every kid is a natural born scientist, engineer, and explorer. I believe that by allowing our students to engage with science and engineering in a fun, hands-on, exploratory manner, we will help guide them to their own unique discoveries - epiphanies that will eventually enable them to successfully meet the challenges facing our world."
