Jeanne Averill

Jeanne Averill has had over thirty years’ experience in the public school system where she received several prestigious awards, including Lawrence Secondary Teacher of the Year, Kansas Semi-finalist Teacher of the Year, and the American Association of Theater Educators National Teacher of the Year. She holds a BA in English and an MA in Theater and Speech from KU. She loves the inclusive culture at Bishop Seabury where she brings her creativity and passion into the classroom, encouraging all her students to express themselves fully and creatively. Jeanne is married to Ric Averill and they have two children, Will and Trish, both of whom are teachers and artists, plus four grandchildren, three of whom also happen to be children our Facilities Manager, Eric Neuteboom. Sidebar: She also holds union memberships in Actor’s Equity and the Screen Actors Guild and can occasionally be seen on local commercials and in Kansas City plays.
