Vanessa Eicher

Vanessa Eicher started at Seabury in 2012 with12 years teaching experience in English and Spanish, using her BA from William Jewell College, her English doctorate from KU, and Spanish fluency from her Hispanic heritage.  Vanessa teaches English 8 and 10, and she's part of the MS team teaching digital citizenship, emotional literacy, and executive functioning skills. This comprehensive educational approach convinced Vanessa to send her own kids to Seabury, and she credits academics, extra-curricular opportunities, and outstanding Seabury college counseling for helping her daughter, Sabrina '20, attend Northwestern University and her son, Lear '23, attend Washington University in St. Louis. "It does take a village to raise a child–and I'm grateful Seabury was my 'village'."  In her free time, Vanessa likes reading, listening to podcasts, walking her dog Twinkie, and–as her students know–she loves not camping.
