Margie Lawrence

Margie Lawrence has been at Bishop Seabury Academy since 2009. Texas born and Germany raised, Lawrence graduated with a B.A in Music Education/Choral Conducting Emphasis from California State University-Fullerton studying under Howard Swan, Harold Decker, Gordon Paine, and John Cooksey. Her love of choral music and teaching took her into Music Ministry in the San Francisco area where she assumed the position of Director of Worship Arts, directing the 400 member children’s choral activities. 40 years of teaching, many concerts and musicals later, Margie and her family moved to Lawrence in July 2008 to be near their grandchildren, Thomas and Emma Silvestri. Both grandchildren graduated from Seabury and come back to visit frequently. Teaching at Seabury and being able to share her love of music makes it her perfect job. Margie loves living in Lawrence with her adult daughter, Annelise and her super Pekingese and class mascot named Gus (his full name for the classical music folks is: Gustavo Dogdumel!).
