Friday Letter

October 19, 2018

Dear Parents,

Thank you for the early support of $47,985 in gifts and pledges to the Seabury Fund!  We have great momentum going into the last weeks of October but every gift makes a difference!  This is the part of the fund drive when we rely on parent gifts to get us to our goal, so if you still have your pledge card sitting on your counter in the sediment of unopened mail, please excavate it and send it in!

Thanks to Amy & Eric Shumaker for hosting the Harvest Moon Party next weekend.  This is an opportunity for parents to get together outside of school and enjoy some time to socialize and have a good time.  It is not too late to rsvp at amyshu2@gmail.com.  See the attached flyer.

In our continued efforts to educate our students about local elections and the importance of civic engagement, we have our next speaker Cynthia Smith visiting morning meeting on Friday next week.   We have a few more speakers on the roster before the November election.

Ms. Lawrence and our Seabury musicians are looking forward to performing for you next Friday at the Fall Tapestry Concert.  Please remember that we hold this program at the First United Methodist Church, West Campus.  I know we all look forward to hearing these talented students.

We have had a lot of student visitors in the building over the last two days.  It is always exciting to see potential future Seahawks.  I have also been thinking about the work involved for our student hosts who have been asked to look after our visitors throughout the day.  That is a lot of work!  If you have a child who hosted one of our guests, please give him or her a pat on the back.  They earned their weekend!

Yours respectfully,

Dr. Schawang
