Friday Letter

October 18, 2019

Dear Parents,

Thanks to everyone who has sent in Seabury Fund gifts and pledges.  If you haven't done so yet, please excavate your pledge card from that pile of mail in the kitchen and send it in.  Thanks to class captains who will be calling parents in their respective grades to answer any questions you may have.

I have included recent photos of our construction.  We are very excited that the BHS team will pour the foundations of the expansion next Tuesday, so we will soon be able to see the concrete footprint for the new building.  We hope to see the exterior of the building delivered mid-November, and then the walls will start coming up!

I know I will see most of you at tonight's Fall Tapestry Concert.  Good luck to Ms. Lawrence and her musicians.  Their work is always impressive and entertaining.  (Please remember that the event occurs at the First United Methodist West Campus!).

Congratulations to Faith Hedges who once again was a typhoon of talent at the KSHSAA Girls Golf Regional competition last week--taking 1st place!  Good luck to her as she travels to State Championship competition on Monday!

The middle school girls volleyball team ended their season by taking 1st place at the Metropolitan Private School League JH Girls Volleyball Tournament; our middle school cross-country team were the champions of the MPSL Meet; also, our middle school boys soccer team finished strong with a great record.  Congratulations to our youngest athletes on a stellar season!

We enjoyed having so many intrepid young students at our first round of Seahawk Visit Days.  Thanks to all students who hosted guests and those who will host in the near future.

Fall break.  We have earned it.  I hope everyone has some quality time for rest and relaxation.

Yours respectfully,

Dr. Schawang
