Friday Letter

May 11, 2018

Dear Parents:

We are two weeks away from Stepping-Up.  For your convenience, I am giving you (above) information for remaining school-wide events.  More specific information about finals will be forthcoming.

The production of Once Upon a Matress opens tonight and runs through Saturday.  This is a delightful comic musical with students from 6th grade through seniors.  I hope you can come out for one of the performances to enjoy the talents and hard work of our young performers.  Break-a-Leg!

Good luck to our boys tennis team at State competition today!

Good luck to Ella Blake at State swimming competition next Friday!

Congratulations to our forensics squad for their performance at 2A State Championship tournament last weekend.  Cavan McCabe took 6th place in poetry and Hilary Griggs took 2nd in extemporaneous speaking.  Great job!

Wednesday will be our Seabury Awards Ceremony where we will recognize the outstanding academic achievements of our students.  (Senior achievements will primarily be recognized at Stepping Up the following week.)  Parents are welcome to attend the awards ceremony.  Seating is limited.

Don't forget the Drive 4 School fund-raiser for our athletics department on Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.  Any adult 18 or over who test drives a Ford earns the school money.  Come for the horse power....stay for the ping pong, volleyball, hot dogs, and snow cones.  The weather should be beautiful!

And finally, congratulations to next year's student senate representatives who were elected this morning:

7th grade: Hayden Slough, Campbell Helling

8th grade: TBD on Monday

9th grade: Ivan Calderon, Elena Weber

10th grade: Paige Helt, Audrey Nguyen-Hoang

11th grade: Henry Nelson, Jett French

12th grade:  Matthew Ellis, Sophia Ostlund

We look forward to seeing these students lead their respective grades next year!

Yours respectfully,

Dr. Schawang
