            Happy summer to all of you wonderful World History Aficionados!!!! I hope all of you are having a great summer!!! The following assignment is not meant to ruin your summer nor is it meant as some sort of controlling mechanism by myself!!! No, it is for you to read about two of the major trends in current history: Globalization and Democratization. Take the chance to learn about these trends as they have a major impact on our own local community!!!! Again-HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!!!

THE ASSIGNMENT:

PART I: Please read the 2 briefing papers contained in this folder or that are linked on my web site. Each paper is about 45 pages in length.

PART II: After reading, write an essay on a topic that you have found interesting in each paper. You should have 2 essays in all. You do not need to do any outside research for this, but you sure can. The essay should be 2 pages in length, have a thesis, and support for that thesis. For example, on the globalization paper, you may want to write about the negative impacts of globalization.
